Editorial Policy

This page explains the editorial principles that guide DogsRealm. Our aim is to publish useful, readable articles that answer specific questions about dogs without exaggeration, invented expertise, or unnecessary repetition. These are our editorial standards and goals, not a claim that every published article has already received formal expert review.

What makes an article useful?

We aim for information that is relevant to the question a reader is trying to answer. Depending on the subject, that may mean step-by-step guidance, clear comparisons, examples, realistic limitations, or a checklist of things to verify. We avoid promising that one solution will work for every dog.

Sources and verification

Our editorial approach favors relevant primary sources, such as official product documentation, public-service guidance, veterinary organizations, recognized animal-welfare organizations, and established professional references. Firsthand experiences and community discussions can help us understand common questions, but anecdotal reports should not be presented as universal facts.

For claims about changing policies, product specifications, or local requirements, articles should identify the source or give readers enough context to verify the current details themselves. When feasible, sources should appear beside the claims they support rather than as a long, disconnected reference list.

Health and behavior topics

Some topics require more care than a general-interest article can provide. We aim to avoid giving individual diagnoses, medication dosing, treatment plans, or guarantees about complex behavior. Content may encourage readers to consult a veterinarian or suitably qualified behavior professional when the situation calls for assessment. Unless explicitly and accurately stated on a specific article, readers should not assume that it has been reviewed by a veterinarian.

Advertising and editorial independence

We aim to keep factual editorial decisions separate from commercial incentives. Product mentions should be relevant to a reader’s actual needs. If a page includes affiliate relationships, sponsorship, or other paid promotion, we intend to disclose that relationship in a clear, appropriate place. See our Advertising Disclosure.

Updates, corrections, and transparency

Dog-related information, products, and services change. When an important factual error is brought to our attention, our process is to review the claim, check reliable information, and make a correction where justified. Substantive corrections may be noted in the article when doing so helps readers understand what changed. Minor spelling and formatting changes generally do not require a correction notice.

We may revise or remove articles that become outdated or that no longer meet our standards. An article’s visible publication or update date, if displayed, should not be interpreted as proof that every external link was checked on that day.

Report a problem

Send the page URL, a short description of the concern, and any useful supporting source to contact@dogsrealm.com. We read correction reports but do not promise a fixed response time or a particular outcome for every submission.
